BANGSAMORO YOUTH CORNER

1976 TRIPOLI PEACE AGREEMENT, 1987 JEDDAH PEACE ACCORD,

1996 FPA AND 2012 FAB:

STATUS QUO FOR FILIPINO LAND-GRABBERS?

By RRayhanR

What are the Filipino and Malaysian colonialist land-grabbers up to now?

On the blatant and shameless land-grab of the Bangsamoro ancestral homeland of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan (MINSUPALA) by the Christian Filipino invaders, Joseph E. Fallon ["Igorot and Moro National Reemergence (The Fabricated Philippine State"), 1999] illuminated:

"In 1935, the Commonwealth of the Philippines was formally established. Under the Quezon administration an escalation of Filipino colonization of Moroland commenced...[and President Quezon's address to the First National Assembly on June 16, 1936 announced]..."the time has come when we should systematically proceed and bring about the colonization and economic development of Mindanao. This resettlement program concentrated on dispossessing the Moros of the rich, fertile lands of Davao, Cotabato and Lanao."

Present-day  map of the Bangsamoro homeland. Before the conquest of the Spaniards, the population was majority Muslims.

"...A State is Invented and Colonization Continues.

On July 4, 1946, the Republic of the Philippines was inaugurated with Moroland as part of the new state."

Backdrop by this gluttonous colonial land-grab of the ancestral habitation of the Muslim and Animist Lumad natives of Mindanao, the Filipino colonialist land-grabbers only dared the freedom-conscious Bangsamoro people again in fighting back as they have done against the Spanish, American and Japanese land-grabbers during the criminal past.

Consequently, thus, the American-blessed Filipino colonisers compelled the Bangsamoro people of Mindanao to embark on another liberation war for justice, survival and peace.

Although this was waged in a small scale magnitude during the 1950s when Bangsamoro freedom fighters, like Tuan Hajal Ouh and Maas Hadji Kamlon of Sulu and Datu Abdulmajid Panoniongan and Datu Tawantawan of Lanao, expressed violently their indignant protest against Philippine colonialism, this was launched full scale in gravity during the 1960s by the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) under the leadership of Chairman Prof. Nur Misuari, Vice-Chairman Datu Abul Khayr Alonto and Foreign Affairs Chairman Al-Ustaj Salamat Hashim.

As Philippine colonialism continued to forcibly occupy the Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan and perpetrated all foul means in bastardising and reducing the Muslim and Highlander natives into colonial slavery, the learned Moro people viewed this as another challenge to regain their dignity, humanity and freedom from colonial serfdom on the ugly hands of the Christian Filipino land-grabbers. From the beginning, the Filipino colonisers cunningly introduced integration processes, such as the Commission on National Integration (CNI) and now Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process (OPAPP), to impose the "cursed" Filipino identity and apparently in christianising and dividing the Muslim and Indigenous Peoples. But the duplicitous strategies have miserably failed.

On April 28, 1974, through the facilities of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC), the MNLF proclaimed to the whole world the establishment of the Bangsamoro Republik, meeting the requirements of national statehood, with the opening strong-worded preamble:

"We. the five million oppressed Bangsamoro people, wishing to free ourselves from the terror, oppression and tyranny of Filipino colonialism which caused us untold sufferings and miseries by criminally usurping our land, by threatening Islam through wholesale destruction and desecration of its places of worship and its Holy Book, and murdering our innocent brothers, sisters and folds in a genocidal campaign of terrifying magnitude..."

On this historic development of the Bangsamoro freedom struggle, Philippine colonialism under President Ferdinand E. Marcos appealed for mediation by the OIC pan-Islamic body to help solve the Philippines-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao on the basis of political autonomy for the Filipino-colonised Bangsamoro people with emphasis on "short of independence" by the shrewd Marcos regime.

Thus, since 1976 up to date, with the active participation of the OIC General Secretariat, the Moro National Liberation Front and the Philippine government have signed three outstanding peace agreements, namely, the December 22, 1976 Tripoli Peace Agreement under President Ferdinand E. Marcos, April 17, 1987 Jeddah Peace Accord under President Corazon C. Aquino and the September 2, 1996 Jakarta Final Peace Agreements under President Fidel V. Ramos.

However, it came to pass that the leading colonial Filipino land-grabbers never had the political will to solve the Philippines-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao. Philippine colonialism treacherously used only the facade of peace process and rudiments of double-talk peace negotiations to deceive the Bangsamoro people and global humanity because the real hidden motive is only to preserve the status quo based on lengthening the immoral colonial land-grabbing of the ancestral homeland of the Muslim and Animist natives of Mindanao.

Weaving again now another political strategy to presumably put to final end the Mindanao war with the oft-repeated government jingle of achieving "just and lasting peace", Philippine colonialism under President Benigno S.Aquino III has again showcased to the Filipino and Bangsamoro communities and as well to the global humanity the signing of the November 15, 2012 MILF-GPH Framework Agreement on Bangsamoro (FAB). The contemplation of the end-result FAB is the establishment of another autonomous political structure called "Bangsamoro" to replace the "failed experiment" Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). The farcical ARMM was no less manufactured by Philippine colonialism under President Corazon C. Aquino to fool the world into believing that it was the solution to the violent Philippines-Bangsamoro conflict in Mindanao, heralding "self-government" for the Filipino-colonised Bangsamoro people. But the ARMM turned out only into a "pinoy-pinoy like kenkoy" political gimmickry of Philippine colonialism in introducing cosmetic change.

In conspiracy with Malaysian colonialism under Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, the Aquino II government has altogether evaded the complete implementation of the 1996 MNLF-OIC-GRP Final Peace Agreements. Both the Filipino and Malaysian colonialist land-grabbers are presently somewhat leaving no room for adjustment to have the 2012 MILF-PGH FAB as another "historical breakthrough" in resolving the 4-decades long Mindanao conflict. Yet, one Philippine media opinion maker, Roberto Tiglao, has eulogised the "Aquino-MILF pact a curse on the nation."

Nonetheless, is the newly-crafted 2012 MILF-GPH FAB the ultimate solution to the freedom struggle of the Bangsamoro people, who have been time and again hoodwinked by Philippine colonialism to believe in its colonial antics shrewdly orchestrated and stage-managed by the divisive OPAPP agency?

Now that Philippine colonialism under the Aquino II government has unraveled again another masterpiece colonial strategy of pulling all strings, including buying with tax payers' money the concerned local officials in the fake ARMM government and inviting the active involvement of the global community of nations and non-government organisations (NGOs), is this other political charade not just a continuation of perpetuating the evil that is Philippine colonialism in Mindanao?

In the final analysis, similar to the other paper tiger forged peace agreements, the 2012 MILF-GPH FAB  is plainly status quo for the Filipino colonialist land-grabbers. And, yes, it can also be  a plus favour to the North Borneo (Sabah)-land-grabbing Malaysian colonisers.

Hence, the moral question is - when will the Filipino and Malaysian land-grabbers cease to be colonisers? -rrr/bfs
